Dear Network Members,
Indiscriminate use of inorganic fertilizers, especially in areas having high cropping intensity, has resulted in deteriorated soil fertility. This problem is more prominent in areas where two or more vegetables are grown in the same piece of land every year. Available resources like cow dung, cattle urine, neem leaves etc. can be used to prepare organic manures indigenously. This can replace the application of inorganic fertilizers to some extent to help rejuvenating the soil health. It will also save farmers' money which would have been spent for the purchase of inorganic fertilizers. This manure will also provide protection against a wide range of insect pests and diseases apart from providing nutrients to the plants.

We have just posted a GAP on 'Domestic preparation of liquid organic manure' to the Infobridge Database. Your feedback is welcome.
